Would you like to buy someone you know some 100%-cruelty-free cosmetics/household products/soaps in festive wrapping? Have no fear! A bunch of cruelty-free companies have some lovely gifts available right now:
- Method has some lovely and reasonably priced seasonal gifts — potpourri, candles, aroma sticks, and dish soaps in scents of spiced pear, winter berry, toasted hazelnut, and frosted fir.
- The Body Shop is having a 30% off gifts sale right now — there’s the exotic mango boxed set, the creamy coconut boxed set, etc.
- Lush has a bunch of stocking stuffers — from a chocolate santa bath bomb to “gold, frankincense and beer shower jelly” — and a bunch of droolworthy boxed sets — including one called a Secret Santa boxed set ($10) that looks like it would be VERY useful for that person you don’t know very well yet want to buy a gift for. (I may be be picking up one of these secret santa sets soon.)
- Juice Beauty has an eco-chic holiday gift bag.
- L’Occitane has a TON of boxed sets and stocking stuffers– and it has a gift search function so you can use what you know about someone to find them a gift, free shipping on orders over $25, and free gift wrapping service! It also sells gift cards that work online and in store.
- MyLipStuff has over 100 new holiday flavored limited edition lip balms.
- Pangea Organics has some gift sets in eco-friendly boxes that grow fir trees.
- Paul Mitchell has a bunch of gift sets that donate part of the profits to FoodAfrica.
- WhiteRabbitBeauty.com is having a holiday makeup sale.
- The Cruelty Free Shop in Australia has Christmas gift hampers.
You can also send holiday ecards from various organizations that support alternatives to animal testing — Physician Committee for Responsible Medicine, PETA, and the American Humane Association. The Humane Society of the United States is offering a collectible gift ornament if you donate $50.
And remember, if you’re going to donate to charity, here is a list of ones that do not support animal testing. And I suspect the Physician Committee for Responsible Medicine, PETA, the American Humane Association, and the Humane Society of the United States would love to be donated to as well
Update: Compassion over Killing has some holiday cards, and the Glamorous Grad Student has a list of recommended Lush stocking stuffers.
Update II: AAVS has some lovely holiday ecards as well!

Not to be a debbie-downer or anything but I don’t trust LUSH. They’re not even certified by the CCIC. I emailed them before complimenting that it’s great that their products or ingredients aren’t tested on animals and asked them to consider getting certified by the CCIC. I even told them that the CCIC logo is a great marketing scheme to advertise their company. They never got back to me! Not even a “Thank you for your comments” email. Very dissappointing.

Thanks for this great list of humane gift ideas.
I’d like to add that I just got some cool stuff from Compassion Over Killing, one of my favorite animal groups. They just launched a new “Compassionate Holiday Cheer” marketplace with great gift ideas, and really cute holiday cards with snuggling pigs on the front!
check it out: http://www.cok.net/market/#holiday

Hi Patricia!
I’m so touched you’re upset with Lush for not being CCIC-approved! I used to feel the same way but then I found out that Lush is approved by the CCIC’s Australian sister-site, which has the same no animal testing on ingredients or final products rules. Why Lush hasn’t signed on with the CCIC is beyond me as it sells a huge amount of products in the U.S.
But I’m appalled on your behalf that Lush didn’t get back to you — that’s very rude of Lush’s customer service.
Hi Meg!
Thanks for the information on Compassion Over Killing — that’s a great addition to this list of cruelty-free holiday items!

Carie
