So — this isn’t really an animal testing issue, like my previous Supernatural animal testing reference, which I still like a lot — I was watching an episode of Supernatural, and the two main characters find a rabbit dead and strung up in someone’s living room. Instead of making a joke about it or ignoring it, one of them is appalled and says:
“Why does the rabbit always get screwed in the deal? Poor little guy.”
Isn’t that nice? Despite the fact that I was wincing at the sight of a dead rabbit and trying not to look too closely at it while hitting the fast forward button on the television remote, I was happy to see recognition of the sacrifices animals make for people acknowledged in film. I mean sure, it’s a teeny-bopper CW horror television series, but I’ll take what I can get. It’s a far cry from Veronica Mars where they seemed to always be discussing how gang members kept nailing live rats to the doors of houses owned by people they didn’t like. Actually I think that happened a total of two times but it made me uncomfortable.
I’m actually really surprised by the Supernatural pro-animal thing — I imagine when writing a horror television series the temptation to have animals be murdered/possessed/tortured must be difficult to ignore. I mean, the people are always being murdered/possessed/tortured in horror series, aren’t they? It’s probably just a matter of time . . .

FYI, SUPERNATURAL is NOT “a teeny-bopper CW horror television series”, it’s a brilliantly-written, acted and directed show watched by millions of highly intelligent people! We appreciate it for the wonderful brotherly relationship, humor, scares, multi-layered storyline and enthralling ongoing mytharc.
And by the way, I’m 54 years old, far removed from being a teeny-bopper!

Welcome to my blog! I’d like to apologize for calling Supernatural a teeny-bopper series to you. It’s a show that appeals to people of differing ages. I do enjoy it a lot, and it does have a pro-animal perspective that is totally lacking in any other television shows around, as well as some hilarious pop-culture references/jokes.

I love watching Supernatural. I really like the humor and pro animal rights prospective too . It’s one of the few shows that I watch. Most of the t.v. shows that are on are total crap. I’m suprised that it’s on the CW since I can’t stand any of the other shows that are on that network. I did love Veronica Mars when it was on the CW before it got canceled. All the good shows I like get canceled!:( Damn it!
Did you know that the actor Jared (the one that plays Sam) was in a peta anti fur ad? Pretty cool.

i love supernatrual i have not missed 1 eposide i CANT WAIT till tommrrow when season 4 come out GOSH was is sam going to do w/o dean i bet dean craws out of hell or sam makes a deal
