This is less of a review of a product, and more of a review of a store. The store is White Rabbit Beauty — it’s a store that sells only CCIC-approved-cruelty-free products. (Many cruelty-free stores sell products that are not specifically tested on animals, but they buy their ingredients from suppliers who do test on animals.) I’ve only found one other store like that, and it’s the Cruelty Free Shop in Australia, which I’d love to order stuff from, but the shipping would be astronomical.

According to its webpage, White Rabbit Beauty is designed to provide skin care and cosmetics that aren’t tested on animals. (Yay!) The founder and proprietor, Jean Knight, was a civil engineer who specialized in environmental engineering and water resources, and is now a professional writer in science and technology.

White Rabbit Beauty’s goal is to provide the best beauty products on the market with an assurance that none of them have been tested on animals at any stage of their development. It also only stocks products that have ingredients that “reputable research has shown to be effective and safe” — thus, the moisturizers only have “good emollients, antioxidants, and anti-irritants,” the cleansers only are “water soluble and soap free,” and the makeup has few irritants. If you don’t like scented cosmetics, there is a section devoted to cruelty-free fragrance-free products, and if you’d like to buy cruelty-free vegan products, there’s a section for that too. All the products they sell that aren’t vegan are vegetarian. There’s free shipping on orders of $49 or more, they have a free wallet guide for cruelty-free products, they have a sale page, some ingredient tips, and a thirty day return policy.

The brands they carry are: Alba Botanica, Avalon, Beauty without Cruelty, D’lish, ELON, Face atelier, Gabriel, Jason, Kiss My Face, Magick, ShiKai, and Zadro.

So far I’ve ordered one package from there — I really enjoyed the fact that I could order anything on the website and know it was 100% cruelty-free, it arrived very quickly, and it had free samples! All in all, a great shopping experience. I highly recommend it.
